Station Information
Programs: Cotton variety research, forestry tree species evaluation for western Oklahoma.
Location: Three miles east of Mangum on Highway 283 and a mile south.
Size: 320 acres.
Description: This field station was originally designed to study soil and wind erosion problems in the area. The station is on the Miles series soils, which are vulnerable to wind and water erosion, although they can be quite productive with good management.
